Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Cargo-GO ("Cargo-GO", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Cargo-GO mobile application and related services (the "Service"). It applies to the Service only, and not to any third-party product or website that the Service may link to or rely on.
2. Information you provide
Account information
If you create an account or sign in, we may process an account identifier and, where you choose to provide it, a display name or email address. Where sign-in is handled by a platform provider, we receive the information that provider shares with us based on your choices.
Bag and trip information
We process information you enter about bags and trips, which may include bag names, descriptions, colours or tags, photographs you attach, trip labels, travel dates, and flight or shipment references you supply.
Location and tracking-related information
The Service may process location-related information in order to display maps and journey context. This may include device location where you grant permission, and status or position information derived from travel schedules or from third-party sources.
Location information may be approximate, delayed, or unavailable. Its accuracy and availability depend on the permissions you grant, your device and its settings, network conditions, and the data made available by third-party sources. The Service does not promise continuous or precise positioning.
Family-sharing information
If you invite someone to follow a bag or trip, we process the information needed to create and manage that share, such as an invitation link or token, a display name you enter, and the access level you choose. Information you share becomes visible to the people you share it with for as long as the share remains active.
Postcards and user-generated content
If you create postcards or similar content, we process the content and any associated details you supply, such as a message, destination, or image. If you choose to share that content outside the Service, the receiving platform's own terms and privacy practices apply to it.
3. Information collected automatically
Device and usage information
We may process technical information such as device type, operating system version, application version, language and region settings, and general information about how features are used.
Analytics
We may use analytics to understand how the Service performs and how features are used, so that we can improve them. Where analytics are used, we aim to limit collection to what is needed for that purpose.
Crash reports
We may process diagnostic information when the application encounters an error, including technical details about the device state at the time, so that we can identify and fix problems.
Purchase and subscription information
If you make a purchase, the transaction is processed by the relevant app store. We may receive confirmation of entitlement or subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card details from the app store.
Notification preferences
If you enable notifications, we process the settings and identifiers needed to deliver them, such as a push token issued by your device platform.
4. How information is used
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and its features.
- To display bag, trip, and journey information you have chosen to record.
- To deliver notifications and updates you have enabled.
- To enable sharing with people you select.
- To support you when you contact us.
- To diagnose problems, improve reliability, and develop the Service.
- To protect the Service and its users, and to comply with legal obligations.
5. How information may be shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared:
- With people you choose, when you use sharing features.
- With service providers who process information on our behalf to host, operate, secure, or support the Service, under obligations of confidentiality and limited use.
- With platform providers, where features depend on them, such as app-store purchases or push delivery.
- For legal reasons, where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a successor policy.
6. Third-party services
The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure and information sources. Those parties handle information under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. Their availability and accuracy may change over time.
7. Data retention
We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy, and afterwards where retention is required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Where you delete content or your account, we aim to delete or de-identify the associated information within a reasonable period, subject to those requirements and to routine backup cycles.
8. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse, and we review those measures as the Service develops. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
9. Your choices
Location permissions
Location access is controlled by your device. You can grant or withdraw it at any time in your device settings. If you withdraw it, features that depend on your location may be limited or unavailable, while other parts of the Service should continue to work.
Notification permissions
Notifications are controlled by your device and by any preferences offered inside the application. You can disable them at any time.
Sharing controls
You choose what to share and with whom, and you can stop sharing where the Service provides that option.
10. Access, correction, export, and deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information, to object to certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To make a request, contact support@getcargogo.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which consent is required in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
12. International processing
Information may be processed and stored in countries other than the one in which you live, and those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards apply to such transfers.
13. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and where a change is material we will aim to provide additional notice.
14. Contact
